In the dim light of the early morning, Newbie watched his Daddy-O pack up and get ready to head out. We were all stunned with amazement, really, because the Hubs is NOT an early bird, and we were shocked to see him bustling about the house wrangling everyone and everything into place so we could have breakfast together. I'm telling you, it was a sight to behold- even Opie was impressed!
Breakfast was a lot of fun. I love sipping restaurant coffee out of restaurant mugs and downing a heavy breakfast of eggs and hash browns and hot cakes that is sure to hit like a rock as soon as we walk out the doors. I'm a "go big or go home" kinda gal when it comes to breakfast out. No yogurt or granola for me. If its breakfast on the road, then somebody better pull up the U-Haul, because this lady's gonna order the Breakfast Blockbuster every time.
Mmm Mmm....yogurt.
Breakfast out was a nice way to soften the blow of a very whiny yesterday and to kick off a fresh start to the weekend. Yesterday started out well with a great nap and some house cleaning.
Is there anything in the world sweeter than a sleeping baby?
Turns out having a baby is the best thing I ever did, because I don't have to dust anymore!
After the house cleaning and lunch, however, things took a turn for the worse. I don't know if it was him or me or the cosmos just happened to align askew, but Newbie and I had a rough go yesterday afternoon/evening. There was lots of whining and fussing and yelling, and I can't remember just which one of us did which or who started it. By the time he woke up fussing at midnight last night, I was begging the Hubs for a few hours to myself on Saturday. Which is awesome. Because he said yes. And today, my friends, is Saturday.
After a week of the Hubs being sick followed by a week of Baby Boy being sick, sometimes a mama just needs to leave the boys at home and hit up the Clinique counter for some new makeup and Buy Buy Baby for some fun shopping. And that's the plan. In fact, my chariot awaits me, and I need to bust outta here before the Hubs vetoes the situation and tells me he's not up for flying solo for a little while.
I've gotta run and catch my break while I can- y'all have a fabulous weekend!
