Boris, Book Club, and Baby Boy

Between Boris and Book Club and my baby boy, I haven't had time to squeeze in more posts or take more pictures.  Eep!  I'm hosting Book Club Thursday night, and I am seriously cramming to get this darling book finished.  It feels a lot like trying to finish a book before class in college, minus the darling...because I don't remember reading many books I coined "darling" in Brit Lit 101.  But this book is darling, and I've got my nose stuck in it any chance I get.

I wanted to hop on today to post a couple pictures I snapped last week when we were in the thick of "Fake Spring," and savoring the sunshine and warmer temps.  I love that the sunshine is just exploding from these pictures.  You can barely see us because I am such a horrible photographer the sun is so glorious. Today it is 15 degrees outside, but the sun is shining, and between the sunshine leaking in through the drapes and these photos, I can almost taste Spring just around the corner, and it tastes good.

Non-related, but worth noting: Boris is taking a seriously vital blow today...I daresay he just might kick the bucket by this afternoon!  If that dream becomes a reality, it will be the first time all my laundry has been done and put away since this time last year.  I am not kidding.  It's a big day, folks.  A BIG day.

Hope you all have a BIG day of your own! =)

Hello, My Name is Boris.

This week the Hubs doesn't have Saturday off, but he does have today off, so we had a big Thursday breakfast.  It was really something because I pulled out the waffle iron for the first time in about two years.  Oh, the yum.  I swiped a few of Newbie's blueberry puree's from the freezer and topped it off with Redi Whip.  De.light.ful.

Yesterday we had play group with our cronies and then met up with Aunt Corndog for lunch at Jimmy Johns.  Newbie had a blast with his little buddies in the morning, and he loved seeing his auntie at lunch.  We stopped by JoAnn's and TJ Maxx with Corndog too, where I found some more Crayola beginner's art supplies for an absolute steal at five bucks.  I'm a little obsessed with art supplies for Newbie right now, because he's just getting old enough to dig craft time, and it opens up a whole world of fun stuff for us to do during the day.  Hooray!

He's also been really into dancing this week.  It came out of nowhere some time this weekend, and he's been getting his boogie on any time he hears music now.  It is the most adorable thing EVER!  He gets up on his little knees and just bobs up and down to the beat and nods his head, grinning from ear to ear the whole time.  I had forgotten about a Wiggles CD I bought for him several months ago, so I put that on for him this morning thinking he would love to boogie to it.

(*To experience The Wiggles in all their glory, scroll down to the bottom of the blog and mute or pause the music. =])

He was totally overwhelmed by all the bells and whistles and fun sounds, and he just sat there, jaw dropped, staring at the CD player.  I guess I'll have to break The Wiggles to him gently from now on. =)

Today Daddy-O is going to hang with Newbie while I hack through a to-do list that hasn't been touched this week.  I love that the Hubs is such a wonderful daddy, and I can leave him with Newbie and know they will both have a ball!

First on the list today is laundry laundry laundry.  I named the mountain of laundry Boris in hopes that naming it would make it more friendly and approachable.  It worked the first day because I managed to move Boris from our bedroom upstairs to the bottom of the stairs in the living room.  But that's as far as he got.  And that was Monday.  So I'm going to introduce him to the laundry room today and see what we can't do about shrinking him.

Wishing you all a great day-before-Friday!
