Do you worry about the future?

Are you living in the past?

Can't you feel the presence and peace that Jesus has? 

Consider how the lilies do not labor for their blessings

Sometimes when I'm having a tough day week, the Holy Spirit whispers the words of the song above to my heart, and I am reminded to Whom I belong and on Whom to fix my gaze. As I am still and listen, my soul breathes deep and desperately gulps a refreshing breath of peace and grace.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. 

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

There's nothing I want more than for my son to know the depth of riches that await us when we keep our eyes on Christ- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Last night as I rocked Newbie to sleep, I sang this song to him through silent tears.  There were tears because it's been a tough week (we've been handed more than one lemon in the past couple days-blech!) and tears because there's nothing like a tough week to make me incredibly aware that I am forever grateful to know the love and grace of the One who gives us peace.

Praying that we take heart, friends, for God is good, He loves us more than we know, and He has overcome the world .
