Almost Two...

Happy Monday!

I'm just popping in to say hello because I realized its been a while since my last post and its not really fair to do that to you when there's a chance I could go into labor any day. Eep!  Sorry to leave you hanging.  No code red alerts over here- Jubilee is still snuggled in and hanging out with us, and I don't have anything new to report...with the exception of sharing that we're another box of Girl Scout cookies down thanks to a long, lazy weekend.  =)

I can't believe its already April.  The time is just flying by this year.  Every day I realize we're a step closer to meeting Jubilee, and the fleeting time makes me want to grab onto each and every moment even more.  We are just soaking in the time we have with her.  These are our Jubilee Days, and I am so grateful God has blessed us with them.

Then there is this boy:

I can't believe he is almost two years old.  Two years!  Talk about time flying by.  This boy is such a joy to us, and while it feels like it can't possibly be two years since we first laid eyes on that sweet, sweet face, it also feels like he's been with us forever.  He is such a part of our family, our days and our smiles- he is just a part of what makes us, us.  I am so looking forward to celebrating the gift God's given us in him on his birthday in a couple weeks.  Words can't hold the billions of treasures this little man has brought into our every day, and I am just thrilled to be entrusted with his little heart.  Speaking of his little heart, he has been working on memorizing Psalm 100:1, the verse Jubilee is named after, and it is just the most precious thing.  I'll try to catch him on camera soon so I can share.

This morning I went on a birthday planning bender and made a mess of the dining room table while working on some seriously labor intensive second birthday party invitations.  This year has been such a whirlwind of emotions and busyness that I have decided to back off the birthday bus and just do a low-key party for Newbie this year.  It goes against everything in me to tone it down, (hello, crazy party planner) but I realized the creative juices are running a little low along with my energy these days, and since Newbie's easy to please with some chocolate milk and cake, I can probably jump off the handmade party favor and extravagant decorations with coordinating party games boat this year...with every intention of jumping right back on next year. Ha! Its just in my blood, man.  Plus, I have a ball planning that kind of stuff.  I get it from my mom- we always had crazy fun birthday parties growing up, and I have such fun doing the same for Newbie. I'm just low on time and creativity this year. So the invitations are the last bit of my major party overhaul.  Its downhill from here, and seeing as how his birthday is less than two weeks away, that's probably a good thing. =)

I'm off to catch a few Z's before Newbie decides naptime is over.  We've been nap-deprived the past few days, and no-nap afternoons just don't look good on us.  I better get mine in before its too late.

Wishing you all a great week!

  1. I think you can get by with cake and chocolate milk at the #2 party this year. Your Mom's party shoes are hard to fill, aren't they?! But there is next year and #3to catch up! That little green tractor is really chugging down the countdown line! Love, love, love you!
