Happy Easter!

Our Easter morning was a little anti-climatic before church because the Hubs and I didn't do Easter baskets....or Easter breakfast....or Easter cards for each other this year. We've been a little too busy keeping track of this baby to think about stopping by the store to fill eggs with candy. I'm not going to say I didn't miss my yearly quota of Reeses, but I think I have compensated lately with the Samoas, so I should make it. It was actually a nice change of pace- we spent time reflecting and enjoying the beautiful weather Sunday morning before church. I even threw caution to the wind and didn't worry about what our "Easter outfits" were going to be this year. It's a little hard to pull off a new Easter dress when you're carrying a watermelon on your waist. So we spent Easter focusing on what Easter is all about instead of cracking open the eggs and stuffing ourselves. Not that I wouldn't have thoroughly enjoyed that...it was just nice to avoid distractions on such a special day.

HOWEVER, in an UNPRECEDENTED move, we both got dressed, looked at each other, and MATCHED. We never EVER match, so it was cause for pause and celebration. Coordinating outfits on Easter Sunday without any effort at all. I'm going to stop trying to hard the rest of the year.

After a great service at church, we went over to my parents' house for a delicious lunch of hot dogs and a fantastic dinner of BBQ ribs. Mmm... So yummy. I don't know why I didn't inherit the brilliant cook gene. My mom's hot dogs and ribs blew the Raisin Bran Crunch I made for breakfast out of the water.

That afternoon, the menfolk went out to play golf and my mom and I sat and talked while we waited for the sibs to show up. We took some time before the guys left to take a few pics of this ever-growing belly, reasoning that we're just not sure how much longer this little boy is going to hang out in there, and WOW that thing is huge, so let's be sure to get some pictures. I will most likely forever regret posting pics of my belly at 7+ months pregnant, but I figure it's kind of protocol in situations like these. You know, growing a baby and all is kind of a big deal. =)

And here's that 38 week picture to replace the mental one you had to create on your own for the last post:

Can't wait to meet our little spring chicken!

In other news...today is cleaning day for me, and I've made a profound discovery. When cleaning, I have found that it is much easier to "work as if working for the Lord and not for men" if I'm listening to worship music as I go. Helps me stay focused and remember to worship Him at all times. PROFOUND. This will change my life as a housewife. Somehow I don't mind scrubbing the Lord's dirty kitchen sink nearly as much as I despise washing mine. =)
