In November and December and January.
I absolutely love it.
I don't want to talk about snow in February and March and April because that will make me grumpy.
But today is the first of December, and the first official snow fall snuck in during the early morning hours and blanketed the town in fluffy white.
It is gorgeous.
It's like a scene straight out of a Christmas movie. Or the picture on a popcorn tin. Or the mural on the front of the Ducks Unlimited Christmas cards the Hubs keeps getting in the mail. I just can't order any of them. Because there's something about Santa chilling out in a log cabin with his rifle and a bunch of hunting dogs that just kinda creeps me out. I can't explain it. But I can tell you that you won't be getting a Ducks Unlimited Christmas card from us this year, that's for sure.
We had to brave the cold and grab a few pictures this afternoon. It worked out really well until Newbie rolled onto his back and gave himself a white wash with his snow-covered mitten. Ya live and learn.
Watching him explore his world is such a blessing. It never gets old!
Newbie and I had a play date this morning, so we bundled up and hit to road for another rebel rousing free for all in a toy trodden living room. It was such fun! I love spending time with girlfriends, and I love watching Newbie play with other kiddos. He's still the youngest of the bunch, so he's really taken with all the "big kids" crawling and pulling up on furniture. He loved the big kid toys....I'm thinking it's a good thing Santa got him a truck for Christmas because he was all over the dump trucks this morning. He also has a thing for sticking long objects down his throat. We had to talk about how sword swallowing isn't exactly the best career move right now. He's not really OK with it. But we're getting there.Newbie's the one in the cheesy Christmas embellishments. =)
One of these days we'll find a way to use the self-timer and snag some pics of the mamas and babies all together, but that's a little ambitious at this point. It's all I can do to keep Newbie from shoving maracas down his trachea at this point. Great pictures will have to be saved for another play date.
Also at play group, this happened:
Cool whip and chocolate graham crackers rolled in candy canes and stuck in the freezer. Make them!!!
I also have a few pictures of just general cuteness because they don't really fit in anywhere, but I can't seem to get enough of those chubby little cheeks!

Happy first of December and to all, a good night!

Oh my goodness! Breck's face in that picture CRACKS me up! He looks so freaked out! LOL Those peppermint bad boys WERE good! I'm just some chocolate graham crackers away from making them for us! Yumm! Ps. We should get together and have a brooch crafting session! That might require a babysitter though. Not sure. Wish we lived closer!
